Before turning to perfumery, Lucas trained as a painter under a Flemish master in the South of France, where he discovered he has synesthesia — the rare ability to perceive colours, sounds and scents as intertwined sensory experiences.

The house takes its name from the number 777, a figure of personal and spiritual significance to Lucas, representing perfection and protection.
